Since 2007, Mackies has been instrumental in putting the Australasian baking industry on wheels

Through an innovative design by Mackies engineers a flat pack rack has been designed which can be configured to suit both 600 x 400 and Gastronorm trays. The racks come in both 18, 12 and 22-shelf models, with the 12-shelf model being specifically designed for the handling of pan sets.

The square tube frame, cross supports and angle runners are manufactured entirely from stainless steel along with all the component nuts and bolts.

The racks are mobile on 4 x 5” (127 mm) nylon pintle castors, which have a zinc-plated frame. Being larger than normally used, these castors provide a superior level of mobility. The racks are rated to 250kgs.

The frames have crush bent corners for strength and all the leading edges on the angle runners are chamfered to meet both safety and damage reduction criteria. The angle runners are fully (tig) welded to the frame top and front to HACCP requirements.

Due to their collapsible design, the racks are flat packed in cardboard cartons, which is a very beneficial innovation as they can be sent as a single carton. For multiple orders, 8 racks can be stacked on 1 pallet, which is a major saving in freight.

The development of these racks is another initiative by Mackies to provide its customers with products that not only meet all the Food Safety and OH&S requirements but also represent great value for money.
